Cisco celebrates

Cisco had double reason to celebrate just recently as they not only passed the 20-year milestone of their prestigious CCIE (Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert) certification, but also by handing out the 2 millionth Cisco career certification.

Given the tendency within the I.T. certification world to rebrand, rename, and reinvent certification titles seemingly on a whim, the CCIE (introduced in 1993) stands out as a career credential that has only been enhanced over the years. Long may it continue.

If you want to see and hear a number of Cisco-types talk about these milestones and more, you can do so here, and to the more than two million Cisco certification holders, and Cisco, congratulations.
