CNE Certification

On to the free CNE study guides, practice questions and demo's

General CNE information

If you're studying for your CNE certfication then hopefully my collection of free CNE resources, free CNE study guides, and free practice exams will be of use to you. I've put them online, along with my other certification resources after I had numerous requests from friends to do so. Lots of sites have helped me with my certifications, so hopefully I can give something back to the 'community' by the information on this site. I'll be adding to the list as I come across good free CNE resources, time (and the wife) permitting. There are, of course, many good sites out there that have some really great information in assisting you to pass your exam. Finding that information is becoming increasingly difficult, I feel, with many of the main sites becoming bogged down with flashing banners and advertising. I've tried to provide links to many of those good sites for you that go straight to the good stuff.

I've also put up a studying tips section, with links and articles to getting the most from your studying time, and offering techniques to improving your studying techniques. As I'm a long time out of school, it was good for me to brush up on the 'art of studying'. I was interested to find out that I'm a 'visual' learner, so the method that I developed to tackle my exams was to watch a video tutorials for the subject I was studying, and then to back it up by reading the corresponding chapter in a good CNE book. Then I practiced on a test lab that I'd set up at work. I find that this method of watching and then reading seems to be working for me. One of the last things that I normally do before each exam, where possible, is to do a Transcender exam mock-up the weekend before the exam. I can't praise them enough, but again, what works for me isn't necessarily going to work for you. You have to find your own groove :)

Recommended reading: I used the 'Novell's CNE Study Study Set for NetWare 5.1''. This book covered all of the exam objectives and comes with a 3-user version of netware5 (good for a practice lab), as well as CBT's. I actually work on a Novell platform during the day so didn't need to use the CD's, but the book was good technically. If anything it went a bit too much into detail, but that's better than not enough.. But don't rely on just one source of information, and don't rely on just the test questions out of one book for your final test preparation. Try to do as many questions as you can, and any areas that you feel you're not getting the answers right, then study some more. Hopefully some of the information from the sources below will help you become CNE certified.
