Microsoft Certified Technical Specialist (MCTS) Certification

The Microsoft Certified Technical Specialist certification (MCTS) is aimed at candidates who wish to demonstrate relevant knowledge and skills with a particular Microsoft technology. After earning this credential candidates will be able to demonstrate the ability to successfully implement, administer, troubleshoot and debug their chosen area of Microsoft technology expertise. Each track provides the opportunity for the candidate to demonstrate specific knowledge of a particular Microsoft product or technology that might be useful in the job marketplace.

The MCTS credential is aimed at candidates with at least one year of hands-on, relevant, experience and, as part of the Associate-level group of certs, the MCTS is a stepping-stone to higher-level Microsoft certifications.

There are a number of different MCTS certification tracks that you can choose from that concentrate on different products or specific areas of knowledge (note that many will be retiring at the end of January, 2014).
