MCTS - Web Applications .Net Framework 2.0

The MCTS Web Applications certification is the foundation certification for candidates wishing to demonstrate their knowledge of Web application technology and data access in Web applications. This certification is also a pre-requisite for the MCPD Web Developer and the MCPD Enterprise Applications Developer.

To earn the MCTS Web Applications credential the candidate must pass two exams, one focusing on .NET Framework 2.0 foundational skills and one focusing on Web-based client development:

Upon successful completion of the two exams the candidate will be awarded the MCTS Web Applications certification. The candidate may then attempt more MCTS qualifications or move up to the MCPD. The exam 70-536 is common across the three application developer MCTS certifications (Web, Windows and Distributed), so to gain the other two MCTS credentials at the completion of this one the candidate need only pass two more exams.

If you already hold an MCAD or MCSD qualification and are looking to migrate your certification to the new generation MCPD, then you only need to complete the upgrade exam and do not have to obtain the MCTS qualification first.
