MCTS - Windows Applications .Net Framework 2.0

Aimed at developers who wish to demonstrate their ability with Windows Forms technology, the MCTS Windows Applications certification is the foundation credential that leads to the MCPD Windows Developer certification. Candidates who wish to earn the higher MCPD must first pass the two exams that make up the MCTS Windows Applications credential.

Of the two exams, one focuses on .NET Framework 2.0 foundational skills and the other focuses on Windows-based client development. The exams are:

The MCTS Windows Applications credential will be awarded upon successfully passing both exams. Candidates may then choose to obtain further MCTS certifications or move up to the MCPD Windows Developer certification.

It’s worth noting that the exam 70-536 is common across all three application developer MCTS certifications (Web, Windows and Distributed), so to gain the other two MCTS certifications at the completion of this one the candidate need only pass a total of two more exams.

If you already hold an MCAD or MCSD qualification and are looking to migrate your certification to the new generation MCPD, then you only need to complete the upgrade exam and do not have to obtain the MCTS qualification first.
